Portable petrol or diesel-driven generating sets with capacities ranging from 0.5 to 4 kVA are available for quick use in the field. These generally weight less than 120 kg and are capable of supplying DC and AC current. To guarantee a maximum of safety even under difficult conditions, the AC units are generally shockproof-insulated.

The DC sets are also proof against overcurrent, overvoltage and reverse connection. They can charge and buffer batteries in accordance with the I/U characteristic, DIN 41773. They are also designed to supply 24-volt systems. In addition, they can also suitable for direct consumer supply. In characteristic and application conditions they comply with STANAG 4134, 2895 and EMV to MIL-STD 461D.

The AC generating sets for single-phase consumers are suitable for all appliances otherwise supplied by public electricity networks. In characteristic and application conditions they comply with STANAG 4135, 2895 and EMV to MIL-STD 461D.
